Cyprus Trails brings together the 88 nature trails and the E4 path of Cyprus, with maps, elevation profiles, trailhead weather and hike recording. It works offline and collects no data.

What the app does

Every official trail

88 nature trails and the Cyprus sections of the E4 long-distance path, from the official open data of the Republic of Cyprus. Names in English and Greek, checked and completed by hand.

Works offline

Every route, start point and trail page is stored on your iPhone, so the app works in the mountains without a signal. Nothing needs an account.

Know before you go

Distance, climb, highest point, estimated walking time and an effort level for every trail, with an elevation profile coloured by steepness.

Along the way

Springs, viewpoints, peaks, waterfalls, picnic sites, churches and parking along each route, so you know where the water and the views are.

Weather at the start

The forecast for the trailhead with warnings for heat, UV, rain and wind, plus sunrise and sunset so you are back before dark.

Directions your way

Get to the start in Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze, whichever you prefer. Export any trail as a GPX file for your watch or another app.

Record and follow

Record your hike with live time, distance and climb, follow a trail with progress and time remaining, and get an alert if you wander off it, even with the screen off.

Stamps and badges

Collect a stamp for every trail you finish and unlock badges as you explore each region, the Troodos mountains and the E4.

Safety tools

One-tap calls to 112, 199 and the 1407 forest fire line, share your exact position with a friend, and practical advice for hiking in Cyprus.

Where the information comes from

Trails

Routes and start points are the official open data of the Republic of Cyprus on data.gov.cy (CC BY 4.0). We joined broken route pieces, completed names in both languages and grouped the E4 by region. Official difficulty grades are not published, so the effort level is an estimate from distance and climb; check the signs at the trailhead.

Elevation, places and weather

Elevation comes from open terrain data (SRTM and EU-DEM). Springs, viewpoints and other places along the way are from OpenStreetMap contributors. Forecasts are from Apple Weather for the trail start only. Springs can run dry in summer, so never rely on them.

Private by design

No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
Your location is used only when you ask, and only on your iPhone. Recorded hikes stay on the phone; export or delete them whenever you like.
While a hike is being recorded the app keeps using your location in the background so the track continues with the screen off, and stops when you finish.
Optional iCloud sync keeps your stamps on your other devices through your own Apple account.

Stay safe. Hiking involves risk. Trails can close or change, GPS and mobile signal can fail, and the heat in summer is serious. Carry water, tell someone your plan, follow official signs, and in an emergency call 112.
